Alumnus Named Outstanding Chemical Technician - Kurt Bell

A recent issue of Chemical and Engineering News reported that Kurt A. Bell (AS'89), employed at Dow Chemical in Midland, was this past fall given the Outstanding Chemical Technician award from the Midland section of the American Chemical Society. He joined Dow upon graduation and worked for six years in the material science and development lab in Central R&D. For the past five years, he has been in the process development lab in contract manufacturing services. Bell also mentors newly hired technologists, including those from Ferris.

Bill Killian, professor of chemistry and director of the Industrial Chemistry Technology program, remembers his former student. "It's good to see Kurt joining a long list of alumni receiving regional and national recognition for their professional achievements," said Killian.
