Admission to the Clinical Programs Students who apply to Ferris and have identified their proposed major as one of the limited capacity clinical programs in the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) are initially accepted into the pre-professional portion of these programs. This acceptance as a pre-professional student does not guarantee the student admission to the professional sequence of the clinical program. Students must meet qualification requirements and then make formal application to the professional sequence of the clinical program. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor his or her progress toward qualifying for the clinical program. When a student meets the qualification criteria they must submit an application to the professional sequence no sooner than January 15 and no later than January 30 to be considered for entry into the program in the next professional sequence cohort. Note: the application dates for the accelerated 2nd degree nursing program are August 1 to August 15 for a January admission. The qualification criteria and application forms for each clinical program can be accessed on the CAHS website (see link below). Students are urged to review this information carefully so that they fully understand how they can make the most of their time at Ferris and how they can be positioned to enter the professional sequence of their desired clinical program on the earliest possible date. A set of frequently asked questions (FAQ) has been developed to assist students in the professional sequence application process. Students are directed to review this information to assist them in the application process. The FAQs about the CAHS Admission to the Professional Sequence Process can be found on the CAHS website (see link below). This site will outline the step-by-step procedure for submission of the application packet. During each fall and spring semester, students will have an opportunity to meet with the CAHS Advising Assistant for academic advising in each clinical program. The group advising sessions scheduled for each clinical program will be posted on the College website and at the entry points of the VFS building. During these group advising sessions you will have an opportunity to meet other students in the program, to learn more about the program and to ask questions. The application process will be addressed during these sessions. It is important that you attend these advising sessions to stay up-to-date with the program.
