USPTA CertificationThe United States Professional Tennis Association is the country's largest and oldest trade association for tennis professionals. Certification as a USPTA professional provides the credentials necessary to obtain employment as a tennis professional. Founded in 1927, the USPTA certifies, educates and provides professional services for its more than 12,000 members around the world. It is a nonprofitorganization with two goals: to raise the standard of the tennis profession, and promote tennis and tennis participation. The certification test is given the senior year for PTM students and includes a proficiency evaluation, teaching and playing assesment, and written examination. Ferris students are fully prepared to pass the test on the first attempt.
