Julie Doyle

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND AREAS OF INTEREST:

Professor Doyle teaches classes in Hotel Management and Resort Management. Advisor for NSMH, National Society in Minorities Hospitality & Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Honors. Director of the MIHEA Career Fair, State Alliance for all Hospitality Universities and Colleges. Coordinator of the Hospitality Programs and professor at Ferris State University who has been teaching and offering seminars on service for over 20 years. She is the past president of Michigan CHRIE and current president of the Michigan Hospitality Educators Alliance. She has served on the national CHRIE committee on student internships and in 1994 was awarded the State of Michigan's Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Michigan CHRIE organization. She was nominated for The Distinguished Teacher Award at FSU in 2004, Who's Who Among Americans Teachers Award, 2002, Teaching Excellence Award for Baccalaureate/ Graduate Degree Institutions in Region 4, nominated 2001, Outstanding FSU Student Affairs Recognition Award 2001 and 2005. Doyle is also a Certified Hospitality Educator through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.

Professor Doyle has given numerous presentations on service and related topics to groups ranging from college professional to high school career educators to student professional organizations. She was recently featured on channel 9 and 10 TV for her work in the area of educating graduating college students in proper etiquette and dining. She has worked with Bay Mills Casino and Resort, Brinkley, MI on Professional Guest Service Standards.
