Matthew D. Pinter, PGM Coordinator

Matt received a B.S. in Secondary Education at Northern Michigan University and an M.S. in Sport Administration at Mississippi State University. He has been the coordinator of Ferris' Professional Golf Management program since March 1993.

Mr. Pinter is responsible for academic advising, internship placement and administration of the PGA of America Golf Professional Training Program for up to 300 students annually. He also helps coordinate placement for graduating students.

Matt is the director of the University's 18-hole golf course, Katke Golf Course.

Chris Pulver, PGM Program Assistant

Chris received a B.S. in Business with a major in Marketing/Professional Golf Management and a B.S. in Resort Management from Ferris State University in May 2008. Before attending Ferris State, Chris was attending Purdue University pursuing a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Chris is continuing his education at Ferris State through the MBA Program with advanced studies in Quality Management.

While at Ferris in the PGM Program, Chris' first internship was at Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club in Arcadia, Michigan where he worked as an Assistant Golf Professional. He also worked for the PGA of America at Medinah Country Club as Merchandise Coordinator Assistant during the 2006 PGA Championship. For his second internship, Chris served as a Front Desk Agent and Assistant Golf Professional at Marriott's Camelback Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Chris completed his final internship at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Chris became a Class A Member of the PGA of America in September 2008. As the PGM Program Assistant, he assists the PGM Coordinator and his staff with academic advising, internship placement and administration of the PGA/PGM curriculum. Chris is also the instructor of the PGM 201 and 202 classes, which guide and prepare students for upcoming PGA testing. As the Assistant Golf Coach, he works alongside Head Coach, Mike Mignano, with both Men's and Women's Golf Teams helping lead the talented bunch toward a national championship. As the Assistant Golf Professional at Katke Golf Course, Chris is the daily manager and Co-Director of the Katke GC Junior Golf Camps.

  Diane Maguire, PGM Secretary

Diane Maguire, PGM Administrative Assistant and Internship Coordinator

Diane received a B.S. in Business Management/Office Administration and a B.S. in Business Records Management from Ferris in 1980, and a M.S. Degree in Career and Technical Education in 2005.

Diane worked in business and industry until 1989, when she accepted a grant funded administrative position at Ferris in the Professional Development Institute (PDI), which provided workshops and training for career and technical education teachers throughout Michigan.

From 1991-2006 Diane served as the Administrative Assistant to the director of the Professional Tennis Management (PTM) program, where she oversaw the PTM budgets and scholarships, and maintained the prospect, student, internship and alumni databases. Diane provided support in all aspects of the program including academic advising, registration, alumni relations, and student association activities. She was also responsible for the marketing and administrative duties for the Ferris State Tennis Camps.

She began her current position with the Professional Golf Management (PGM) program in June of 2006. She oversees internship coordination and placement, interview day, PGM scholarships and budgets. She coordinates PGA Checkpoint, PGA Merchandise Show, senior banquet, workshops, seminars, and PGM activities. She provides support in all aspects of the program including academic advising, registration, recruiting, job placement, and alumni relations.

Annette has been at Ferris since 1980. She started in the PGM Office, September 2007. She provides support for the PGM Office and the department of Sports, Entertainment, and Hospitality Management. She assists in the advising, registration, graduation and other academic areas for the students in the PGM program.
