- What is E-Commerce Marketing?
- E-Commerce Marketing allows sellers to engage prospects and buyers in dynamic, personal dialogues. It allows sellers to offer their products and services to customers all over the world. It helps companies to save both time and money with instant communications and vast "inventories of information" online. It facilitates networking and the creation of vibrant, meaningful communities for both business and personal use.
- What is the difference between an E-Commerce Marketing concentration and a general Marketing degree?
- The E-Commerce Marketing concentration is more specialized. It focuses on E-Commerce, Computer Information Systems and Integrated Marketing Communications classes.
- I'm a marketing (or advertising, or CIS) major. Can I get a double major in E-Commerce Marketing?
- The E-Commerce Marketing concentration cannot be added as a dual major. However, you do have the opportunity to get an E-Commerce Marketing Certificate using your related major course credits. - What are the requirements for students entering the E-Commerce Marketing concentration at Ferris State University?
- Entering students should have at least a 2.5 grade point average in high school. Admission is open to high school graduates who demonstrate academic preparedness, maturity and seriousness of purpose with backgrounds appropriate to their chosen program of studies. High school GPA and the Mathematics and Reading ACT scores will be considered in the admission and placement process. See the Marketing Program Sheet for more information.
- Are there any scholarships available to E-Commerce Marketing students?
- The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing Educational Foundation offers Ferris State University E-Commerce Marketing majors the opportunity to compete for an E-Commerce Marketing Scholarship. Basic requirements are a 3.0 high school grade point average and a 21 or higher on the ACT composite.
- What are the career prospects for an E-Commerce Marketing graduate?
- Career opportunities for E-Commerce Marketing majors include positions in advertising, marketing and Internet agencies and the advertising/marketing/Internet departments of firms of all sizes. Other available jobs may focus on logistics and supply chain functions, statistical analysis or media. There are already more than 150,000 jobs in interactive marketing in the United States alone. In 2005, with growth expected to be 34.8 percent per year, more than 730,000 jobs are forecasted.
