CIS Professional Student OrganizationsStudents are strongly encouraged to join the student chapter of the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP). Membership sets you apart from other graduates who are not involved in a professional student group. It will also provide networking opportunities with peers and IT professionals. Educational opportunities are provided by this group through attending the West Michigan professional AITP chapter monthly meeting, site visits to learn about current technology at companies, and speakers attending the student chapter meetings. Ferris’s student chapter of AITP competed for the first time this year at the National Collegiate Conference (NCC). The Ferris team placed 4th out of 55 teams and received an Honorable Mention ribbon in the Network Design Contest. Three of the Ferris students attending NCC took and passed the nationally-recognized Associate Computer Professional (ACP) exam from the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals (ICCP).
