Computer Information Systems Concentrations and Tracks

Students Can Choose Their Own Concentrations

By using the five directed electives in the program, students can select their own technical/academic concentration from CIS courses or other appropriate Ferris courses. By adding an additional sixth course, students can select any approved minor offered on campus. A suggested list of technical concentrations include, but is not limited to:

  • Network Administration - network support or network administration.
  • Computer Support Specialist - supporting resources including network applications and software.
  • Programmer/Analyst - software development.
  • Consultant - long term projects or contract employment.
  • Web Development - Web applications.
