Rebecca is a northern Michigan native from Cadillac, Michigan. She comes to the Ferris State University Charter Schools Office most recently from Baldwin Community Schools where she began her career in education as a classroom teacher. During this time she participated in a variety of activities and committees including curriculum mapping, benchmarking, school improvement team, writing team, and professional learning communities. Rebecca holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University and a Master's degree in K-12 Reading and Literacy with a Reading Specialist endorsement from Central Michigan University.

Rebecca is well versed in a multitude of assessments and believes that both formative and summative assessments can and should be used as a vehicle to facilitate student achievement. It is Rebecca's goal to help educators embrace the power of assessment for the purpose of driving curriculum and instruction as well as helping every student to experience success. Rebecca believes that every child can and will be successful, given the opportunity.

Rebecca's duties and responsibilities include: 1) Gathering pertinent data required for in-depth analysis and reporting of each academy's academic progress and achievement. 2) Preparing reports and presentations regarding individual academies. 3) Making presentations regarding achievement, assessment, methods, and other related topics to academy boards, local groups, state, and National organizations. 4) Assist in maintaining a computerized database related to FSU authorized academies.
