| National Study on Career Guidance and Decision-Making Among American Youth
In
Fall 2001, the Ferris State University Career Institute partnered
with the National Association of Manufacturers, the Precision
Metalforming Association Educational Foundation and Associated
Equipment Distributors Foundation to conduct its first national
study of young people and their career decisions.
The study was based on a Michigan survey conducted by the Ferris
State University Partnership for Career Decision-Making, in
which leaders in health, technology, education, business and
government joined forces with Ferris to survey Michigan's young
people to determine how they choose careers and courses of study,
and what external factors influence those choices.
