“An Evening in the Emerald Isle”
The 21st annual Ferris State University Hospitality Gala is rapidly approaching! Mark your calendars for “An Evening in the Emerald Isle” on Friday, March 23rd at 5:30 PM. This is one event you certainly don’t want to miss!
The Annual Gala started in 1991 and is a showcase of the diverse talents of the Ferris State Hospitality Students. The gala is entirely a student directed undertaking. Hospitality Students seeking gala leadership positions undergo a rigorous selection process which includes an interview with the hospitality faculty and industry professionals. Gala leaders orchestrate the event planning by creating committees, building agendas, scheduling meetings and developing ideas for making the gala a special and profitable event. Every hospitality student participates in some capacity from valet parking to wait staff, to chef’s assistant.
The Gala includes an exquisite five-course culinary feast, silent/live auction and live entertainment. This year, we are very excited to announce that Celebrity Chef Edward Hayden will be joining us directly from Ireland! Chef Edward Hayden is a true Irishman who has authored two amazing cookbooks on Irish cuisine and entertainment, has his own cooking show in Ireland, and offers a variety of cookery classes that attract tourist from across the globe.
All proceeds from the Gala benefit the Hospitality Management Program Students. The hospitality industry needs well educated professionals and this is your chance to help our deserving students find the path to their futures by attending, sponsoring, or donating auction gifts.
Reserved seating for only $75 per person, seating is limited. 50% of the ticket price is tax deductible. “An Evening in the Emerald Isle” is being held at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center of Big Rapids. However, don’t be fooled! Upon arrival, you will be immersed within the countryside of Ireland! The Holiday Inn is offering a special room rate for guests of the Gala on the night of the event.
