Current Student: Erika Jordan

Erika Jordan is a junior in the CIT program.

Where are you from?
Ypsilanti, MI.

Why did you choose the CIT program, especially being a female?
My original major was graphic design and I didn't pass the sophomore portfolio, so I had to switch programs. I've always been interested in computers, so I shadowed my aunt who works with them. That led me to choose CIT as my new major. I heard the program was good and the career options are really interesting to me. Our program doesn't have many females, but I would encourage more to join.

What do you want to do as a career after graduating from the CIT program?
I want to continue working with people to build communication skills, like being desktop support. One day, I want to have my own business similar to the Geek Squad. Computers are always going to be there and people always need help with them since technology keeps improving each day.

What in the program really sticks out to you?
I took the A+ certifcation class, which is taking a computer apart and putting it back together. I learned a lot and I will always remember that class.

Do you have plans for this summer?
This summer, I'm interning full time at Consumers Energy in Jackson doing desktop support.
