• 2013 ADDY Awards

    February 25th, 2013The 2013 West Michigan ADDY Awards were held at the Grand Rapids Art Museum on Thursday, February 21. The Ferris State University Graphic Design program participants enjoyed a successful night. The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition. Over 60,000 entries are received every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. Transformation Identity, designed by Anne Sutton, won a Gold ADDY. Small Town Studio Identity also won a Gold ADDY. The student designers were Kate Dupon, Anne Sutton, Stephanie Demarest, Craig Cockerill, and Sarah Todd. A Silver ADDY was awarded to the Student Advancement Foundation for their Mindshare 2012...

  • Ferris Students Make Good Choices

    January 23rd, 2013Ferris Students Make Good Choices By: Amy Hughes Good Choices is a Ferris State University campaign that has been in existence since 2000. It promotes responsible behaviors and informed decisions to reduce unsafe activities. The perception is that Ferris students don´t make good choices but the truth is, they do. This misconception creates phantom peer pressure. Students conform to what they believe to be the norm. The goal of Good Choices is to challenge perceptions and show the reality.  Thomas Liszewski, University Counselor and Coordinator, has seen great improvement in student behavior since starting the campaign in 2000.
