Professional activities and areas of interest
Dan joined the faculty of the College of Business in 2011 to support the Computer Information Systems and Computer Information Technology programs. Dan will be responsible for teaching a variety of coursework with a strong concentration in Windows Server and Security technologies.
Prior to joining Ferris, Dan served three years as a member of faculty at Alpena Community College where he redeveloped the Network Administration program and taught multiple courses with IT certification outcome objectives. Leading up to his academic career, Dan spent over ten years working in IT as a consultant, business owner, and IT manager. He has experienced working with micro-business through Fortune 300 companies.
Dan enjoys helping students recognize the value that IT can bring to the table. His students are taught to adopt this approach and learn how to validate cost savings and efficiency gains through proper technology integration. In addition to his research interest of Microsoft Windows Server, he also studies IT Management and Governance, IT Auditing, and Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning.
Dan lives in Big Rapids with his wife Stephanie and their two children.
