PGM Staff Awarded Outstanding Support Staff

Annette Keyt and Diane Maguire from the Professional Golf Management Center were the first recipients to be presented with the "Outstanding Support Staff" award from the Honors program.

Typically, an award for faculty is given from the Honors program. However, Keyt and Maguire were nominated several times before, and when they were nominated again this year, they were finally chosen as recipients.

"It's a big surprise to us because we didn't even know our names were submitted or they even had this award," said Maguire and Keyt.

Keyt is in charge of helping students with academics while Maguire helps PGM students get placed into internships.

"It was very thoughtful of them to nominate us," said Maguire. "You see the purpose in your job and that you are really making a difference in a student's life. A lot of the times, you don't realize that."

Each plaque had quotes from students on why Keyt and Maguire deserved to have the award.

"I literally was motivated to earn a 4.0 GPA last semester so that I could attend the Honors Awards ceremony in order to nominate Diane Maguire and excellent co-worker Annette Keyt," said a student.

Another student said, "Annette is the glue which holds everything together" while another mentioned that "Diane has had more of an impact on my growth as a student and individual throughout my four years than any other student or professor."

Keyt and Maguire's plaques hang proudly in their office and both are very excited and grateful to be presented with this award.
