Dr. Cook teaches accounting courses including Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting and Accounting Systems and Controls. Prior to teaching, she had over 15 years experience in various industries. Her experience allows her to bring “real world” examples into the classroom helping students to make connections between what they learn in college and what they will be doing on the job. Her dissertation research focused on international business culture and she works very hard to accommodate the diverse learning styles of her students in the classroom. She holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation, is a member of the Institute of Managements Accountants (IMA) and often accompanies students to the annual IMA Student Leadership Conference. While accounting is her profession, teaching accounting is her self-described “passion” and she really enjoys her interaction with students. While at Ferris, she has received many teaching awards as a testament to her work both inside and outside the classroom. In her free time she enjoys travel, gardening, and relaxing at the lake…and cheering on her Bulldogs!
