Corey Bledsoe receives Anita Benedetti Scholar Award
February 6, 2015
Ferris student Corey Bledsoe was named an Anita Benedetti Scholar by The Risk Management Society (RIMS). Through this program, RIMS sponsors outstanding students’ attendance at the organization’s Annual Conference and Exhibition, providing airfare, hotel expenses, and a stipend. Bledsoe will attend the RIMS event in New Orleans.
According to Insurance and Risk Management professor Dr. David Brown, Bledsoe “is a dual major in actuarial science and also risk management and insurance, and he is President of the Gamma Iota Sigma-Upsilon Chapter at Ferris State.” In addition, Brown explains, Bledsoe “will participate in a special program track designed for the Anita Benedetti Scholars.”
Representing Ferris is especially an honor because the Insurance and Risk Management program at Ferris is itself extremely competitive. Brown is confident Bledsoe will represent both Risk Management and Insurance and Ferris well; he says, “I know that he will make some valuable contacts and learn a great deal through his participation in this program.”
