Incoming Freshman Requirements

2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from high school

AND

A minimum of 2 out of the 3 SAT/ACT requirements as listed below:  

• English ACT score of 16 or higher, or English SAT score of 370 or higher
• Math ACT score of 19 or higher, or Math SAT score of 460 or higher
• Reading ACT score of 19 or higher, or Verbal SAT score of 430 or higher

The following speciality programs have their own admission requirements:

• Business Administration with Legal Studies (BALS)
• Computer Information Technology (CIT)
• Graphic Design (GRDE)
• Information Security and Intelligence (ISI)
• Legal Studies (LGST)
• Professional Golf Management (PGM)
• Professional Tennis Management (PTM)

Please check with the specific program for any additional admission requirements.
 

Transfer Student Requirements

Combined College or University GPA of 2.35 (on a 4.0 scale) from all instutions attended

AND

One of the following:

• Transfer in credit for or placement into ENGL150 in the first semester (English ACT 16 or higher, SAT 370 or higher)
• Transfer in credit for or placement into MATH 115 in the first semester (Math ACT of 19 or higher, SAT of 460 or higher)

Exceptions

Applicants not meeting incoming freshman or transfer admission criteria, but still meeting Ferris State University admissions criteria, will be placed in Pre-Business program until they meet admission criteria.  Applicants are expected to meet of the following requirements in order to be placed directly into a College of Business associate or bachelor degree program *. (Mitigating circumstances will be considered by the College of Business Dean's Office.)
