English Society

The Ferris English Society is a registered student organization open to anyone who has an interest in writing, literature, or the English language, regardless of major or minor. Our goal is to create a fun environment where discussion of literature can take place. Our goal is to promote English through literature, exploration, and discussion, and to cultivate a population of individuals with a passion for the English language and literature. Most meetings are discussion-based, but there are occasionally games and food. Members aid the Ferris Department of English, Literature, and World Languages in hosting an annual Shakespeare Festival on William Shakespeare’s birthday, and has previously held events such as a Harry Potter party, a Gatsby party, a bonfire, bake sales, and more. To learn more, visit our Facebook page.

French Club

The Ferris French Club is a relatively new club on campus, and our goal since day one has been to generate a population of individuals that are passionate about French as a language and a culture. During our meeting times, we incorporate as much French learning as possible. Whether that be a little bit of speaking, activities, learning about the culture, or even planning for our next French event; we take part in it all. Throughout the semesters, we anticipate to collectively gain more interested students. To learn more about the Ferris French Club, visit us on Facebook.

German Club

The German Culture and Language Club is an RSO for anyone with any degree of interest in the German language or the many cultures of German-speaking regions. Activities include German movie screenings, German food nights, German language practice, and general discussion of anything and everything German. Our hope is to provide interested students with an informal, relaxed environment that encourages immersion, interaction, and exploration. Anyone with an interest in joining can simply show up at one of our meetings. Information about meeting times and locations can be found on our Student Organization Group and Facebook pages.
