This contest kicks off Homecoming Week on October 5. FSU RSOs and Residence Halls are encouraged to create banners out of bedsheets to be hung all over campus. The winning banner best reflects the Homecoming theme.

Rules

1. All participants must be Ferris State University students.
2. $10 entry fee is required per team. Note: Fee must be paid at the Rankin Information Center. You will be given two (2) receipts. Turn one (1) in with your entry form and keep the other for your records. Checks should be made out to FSU.
3. Applications must be turned in to Rankin 164 with payment receipt by September 30 @ 5 PM.
4. Banners must be made out of a regular twin-sized bed sheet. (Suggestion: flat sheets work best)
5. Any material can be used to write the message. (Suggestion: banners may be displayed outside at the football game. Water-resistant materials should be used but are not mandatory.)
6. The banners must display a positive Homecoming message based on the 2009 theme, “Homecoming Heroes – Saving the World Since 1884.” Any banner displaying a negative or non-Homecoming themed message will be disqualified and removed from competition.
7. The banner must be hung in the Student Recreation Center by Monday, October 5 @ noon
8. The banners will be judged during the afternoon of Monday, October 5.
9. If you plan to carry your banner in the parade on Saturday, please make arrangements with the Bed Sheet Banner Chair or the Homecoming Overall Chair to do so. Otherwise, all banners must stay up through Saturday, October 10.
10. Banners may be displayed at the Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 10.
11. Judging will be based on use of theme, creativity and overall appearance.
12. Prizes will be given to the first, second, and third place winners.
13. Banners may be displayed at the game and/or at the dance reception.
14. Banners can be picked up after the game or at the Student Leadership & Activities Office (RAN 164) between Monday, October 12 and Friday, October 16, during regular office hours (8 am – 5 pm). ANY BANNERS NOT PICKED UP BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, WILL BE DISPOSED.
