Recreation
One thing students at Ferris State University do not lack is recreational opportunities. Right on campus students have easy access to a climbing wall, indoor track, weight room, ice arena and indoor tennis courts. Plus, don’t forget Katke Golf Course, one of the top university-owned courses in the United States.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Ferris State is nestled in Big Rapids – the heart of west-central Michigan, where anything from boating to skiing is a short drive away. The Big Rapids Riverwalk offers 2.64 miles of running and walking trails, and cycling enthusiasts can connect to the White Pine Trail, which is the longest rail-to-trail corridor in Michigan. Canoeing, kayaking and tubing on the Muskegon River also are a popular draw for students.
