Housing Arrangements

If you will be living on campus, you'll need to fill out a housing contract and pay a $200 housing deposit.

The Housing contract and booklet will be mailed within 2 weeks of your acceptance. If you did not receive one, contact us at housing@ferris.edu and we'll be happy to send you another copy.

It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Ferris State University to require all single students, living away from home, to reside in University residence halls. The basis for this policy is that learning is not confined to the classroom. Educational experiences provided by living in the residence halls are important to the personal growth of students.

Students must live on campus unless they meet the following criteria:

  • Have reached the age of 20 prior to the 1st day of classes in the semester for which he/she intends to live off campus, or
  • Reside in the permanent home of a parent or legal guardian within 50 road miles of the University and wish to commute

If you fill out the contract and pay the $200 housing deposit, you'll be notified by the Residential Life Office in June of your room assignment.

If you don't receive this information, please contact the Residential Life Office at 1-800-4FERRIS (1-800-433-7747), ext 3745. If you feel you have a special circumstance with your housing situation, please contact the Residential Life Office.
