If you will be living on campus, it is best to fill out a Housing Contract Signature Card prior to attending Orientation. This includes the payment of $200 which serves as your (housing deposit) contract guarantee.
A Housing and Dining contract and information will be mailed out in late January for all students accepted for Fall Semester. Anyone accepted after January will receive a Housing and Dining packet shortly after they are accepted. Students accepted for Spring Semester will receive their Housing and Dining packet mid-October and thereafter. Students accepted for Summer Semester will receive their Housing and Dining packet mid-March and thereafter. If you have not received a packet and should have, please contact Housing (Residential Life) at housing@ferris.edu and we'll be happy to send you a copy.
It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Ferris State University to require all single students, living away from home, to reside in University residence halls. The basis for this policy is that learning is not confined to the classroom. Educational experiences provided by living in the residence halls are important to the personal growth of students.
Students must live on campus unless they meet the following criteria:
- Have reached the age of 20 prior to the 1st day of classes in the semester for which he/she intends to live off campus, or
- Resides in the permanent home of a parent within 50 road miles of the University and wish to commute
After you have filled out and submitted the Housing and Dining Contract Signature Card and have paid the $200 contract guarantee you will be notified by the Housing (Residential Life) Office of your room assignment. You should receive your room assignment by January 5, 2009 for the 2009 Spring Semester.
If you do not receive your room assignment, or you have a special circumstance with your housing situation, please contact the Housing Office at 1-800-4FERRIS (1-800-433-7747), ext 3745.
