Tuition Incentive Program
The Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) encourages eligible students to complete high school by providing tuition assistance for the first two years of college and beyond. The eligibility requirements are set by the Michigan Department of Human Services and include the following:  

bullet Students must be receiving (or have received) Medicaid for 24 months within a 36 month period as identified by the Michigan Dept. of Human Services and
bullet Students must apply before graduating from high school or receiving a GED (General Educational Development) certificate, and
bullet Students must graduate or receive a GED before they reach the age of 20.

TIP Phase I

The State will pay up to 24 credits hours per calendar year for up to a total of 80 semester hours (120 term hours) of credit within a four-year period following high school graduation or GED completion. The student must be enrolled in an associate degree program.

TIP Phase II

TIP will provide a cumulative maximum of $2,000 in tuition benefits to qualified students for the purpose of continuing beyond the associate degree (benefits cannot exceed $500 a semester and is tuition specific).
