It is up to the employing department to determine a pay
rate that falls within the appropriate range; however, it is usually best to
start at the lower end leaving room for pay increases when warranted.
SE&CS must approve any exception to the
above pay rates. The request for an exception must be submitted in writing to
the SE&CS Manager. The request should include the requested pay rate and the
justification for the higher rate of pay such as special skills and experience
required.
