Ferris State University is pleased to offer a variety of generous merit-based scholarships to incoming freshmen who are attending college for the first time.
Woodbridge N. Ferris (WNF) Scholarships are automatically awarded to incoming freshmen based on a combination of the student’s high school GPA and either the ACT Composite score or the SAT combined reading and math score. The FREE Ferris State University admissions application also serves as the application for these scholarships. Students will be awarded the highest value scholarship for which they are eligible. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will continue to accept increased test scores from either the ACT or SAT, until the first day of Fall Semester classes. If we receive higher test scores before classes begin, that qualify a student for a higher valued WNF Scholarship, we will increase the student’s previous scholarship offer to the highest level they qualify for. Only one WNF scholarship will be awarded per student, with the exception of the Resident Hall Bonus or Honors Hall Bonus which may be added to one of the tuition based scholarships.
Woodbridge N. Ferris Scholarship award offers are subject to the availability of funds.
Ferris also offers several other scholarships to incoming freshman. Details and application instructions are listed below. Most, with the exception of the WNF Scholarship Program, require that student’s submit an essay with their application. These scholarships are awarded each Spring for the following Fall Semester.
Readmitted Ferris students are not eligible for Incoming Freshman scholarships.
