Scholarships and Financial Aid

  Satisfactory Academic Progress

In order for students to maintain their financial aid eligibility, they must make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) towards obtaining a degree. These financial aid requirements are separate from students' academic requirements and are monitored at the completion of spring semester for all students. Students must meet the minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements regardless if they are currently receiving financial aid. Failure to do so will result in a loss of eligibility for future financial aid awards.

In reviewing students academic progress the following will be considered:

  1. Cumulative GPA:
Each student must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
  2. Credit Hour Progression:
All students must complete at least 67% of cumulative credit hours attempted to remain on track (i.e. A student who has attempted 46 credits must have earned at least 31 credits).

If you are enrolled as a graduate student, at least 67% of the classes that you take each semester must be graduate level to remain in compliance with Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.

  3. Maximum Number Of Credit Hours To Complete A Degree:
A student must complete a degree program within the specific number of attempted hours listed below:

Associate Within 90 Attempted Credit Hours
Bachelor Within 180 Attempted Credit Hours
Graduate Within 50 Attempted Credit Hours while enrolled in a Graduate Program
Professional Within 170 Attempted Credit Hours

Any student who fails to meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) may be placed on probation, or ultimately suspended from receiving financial aid if the program requirements are not met. Students whose aid has been suspended may file an appeal to have their aid reinstated. See the "Appeals" tab below to learn more.
