Articulation Procedures: Post-Secondary Articulation
- Contact FSU Coordinator of Articulation
Carol Quigley, 591-2310, CSS 201G
Contact the Coordinator of Articulation to set up a meeting to discuss the proposed articulation agreement. This meeting should occur after the initiator has discussed the proposal with his/her program coordinator, department head, and dean. The meeting will typically include the Coordinator of Articulation, the initiator, the Program Coordinator, and if appropriate, the College Dean. Discussion will cover feasibility, interest, program specifics, promotion, and direction.
- Approval to Proceed
Upon approval by the dean, the Coordinator of Articulation will submit the proposal for approval to proceed from the VPAA, with consultation as needed from Admissions & Records and General Counsel.
- Internal Review of Draft Agreement
When approval to proceed with the articulation agreement is granted and communicated to the articulation office, the Coordinator of Articulation will then circulate a proposed draft of the articulation agreement internally to all persons involved in processing the articulation agreement: 1) College Dean; 2) Program Coordinator; and 3) Admissions and Records and General Counsel as necessary.
- Internal Due Date
The Coordinator of Articulation will identify a "due date" for recommended revisions, etc., and will communicate this to those involved in the internal review; this will take no longer than a week. Persons within the University are advised that this will be the only opportunity to make revisions to the agreement. On the due date, requested revisions are considered, and incorporated if appropriate. The General Counsel's office may be consulted by the Coordinator of Articulation to discuss any concerns related to any of the revisions.
- Final Draft
Once the internal review of the draft agreement has been completed, the Coordinator of Articulation will prepare the final draft of the articulation agreement, in consultation with the initiator, and submit it to the other institution.
- External Review of Draft Agreement
The Coordinator of Articulation will send the final draft of the articulation agreement to the other institution for its review and approval, with a stated due date to respond to the University with any requested revisions.
- University Review of External Revisions
The Coordinator of Articulation and the initiator will review the revisions requested by the other institution, and, if substantive, will circulate the proposed revisions within the University for comment and review by those that participated in the review set forth in Paragraph 1. Note: Comments will be limited to only the revisions requested by the other institution, and, again, a due date for such comments (not more than one week) will be set.
- Results of University Review of External Revisions
Once the revisions requested by the other institution have been reviewed, then one of two things will happen:
- Requested revisions are approved
The Coordinator of Articulation will incorporate the requested revisions into the agreement and the agreement is set for signing; or
- Requested revisions must be modified
The Coordinator of Articulation will negotiate the revisions/modifications through the other institution, and will invite General Counsel to assist in this matter as needed. Only if significant changes are made through this negotiation will the agreement be recirculated within the University.
- Signing of the Articulation Agreement
The Coordinator of Articulation will coordinate the signing of the agreement. In the event of a signing for UCEL and/or FSU-GR, those signings will be planned, coordinated, and promoted through those respective offices, in consultation with the Coordinator of Articulation.
- Recordkeeping
All original articulation agreements and accompanying documents will be kept in the office of the Coordinator of Articulation, Admissions and Records, CSS 201G.
