Ferris State University offers college credit to students who have attended a career technical center program or other high school career program that participates in the Statewide Articulation Advanced Placement Credit program at Ferris (the Ferris AAP credit program).
What is Articulated Advanced Placement Credit At Ferris: AAP credit is Ferris college credit that is awarded to eligible career technical education students who have demonstrated specific skill levels by successfully completing a testing process. Based on test results, career education students are awarded Ferris college credit for the skills they've learned and developed through certain programs at the career center and/or high school career program.
Does My Center/School Participate in the Ferris AAP Program? If your career technical center or high school career program participates in the Statewide Articulation Advanced Placement Credit program, you may be eligible to turn your high school credits into college credit.
Yes, my school participates - What do I do next? Once you have determined that your center/school participates in the Ferris AAP credit program, contact your teacher or counselor to help you with the application process. To be eligible for college credit, you must follow the Ferris AAP Plan listed below:
- During the second semester of your senior year at the career center, complete the test(s) required for the Ferris AAP credits you want. To learn what test(s) are required, visit our website at: http://www.ferris.edu/admissions/articulation
- Before your center/school lets out at the end of your senior year (May), print the "Application and Verification Form" (AV Form) off the Articulation web page, complete the form, and then have your career center teacher, counselor, and/or director sign and submit it to Ferris along with copies of your test results.
- Complete your center's career program with a "B" average (3.0 on 4.0 scale).
- Sign up for Ferris Summer Orientation and register for fall classes (June-July)
- (Note: Students have one year from the time they graduate from high school that they are eligible to apply for the Ferris AAP credits)
No, my school does not participate, what can I do? You can go to your career center's counselor, teacher, or director and ask them to give Ferris a call to learn how they, too, can help students turn their career tech center and/or high school credit into COLLEGE CREDIT.
