Desktop Computer

Ferris State University recommends the following minimum requirements for the purchase of a new desktop computer:

Intel Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo running at least 2.5 GHz (No Celerons) Or AMD Athon 64 X2 running at least 2.5 Ghz (No Semprons)
At least 3 gigabytes (GB) of DDR2 memory
At least 320 gigabytes (GB) hard drive
DVD-RW drive
At least 17in. LCD Monitor
Onboard Network Interface Card at least 10/100 (10/100/1000 recommended)
As much of a warranty as budget allows

Notebook Computers

Ferris State University recommends the following minimum requirements for the purchase of a new laptop computer:

Intel Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo running at 2.0 GHz (No Celerons) Or AMD Athlon X2 Dual-core running at 2.0 GHz (No Semprons)
3GB of DDR2 memory
At least 160 gigabytes (GB) hard drive
DVD-RW drive
On board Network Interface Card (10/100/1000 Base-T)
Integrated wireless A/B/G card
As much of a warranty as budget allows

Mac Laptops

Ferris State University recommends the following minimum requirements for the purchase of a new MAC laptop computer:

Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.0 GHz or better
2GB of DDR2 memory
At least 120 gigabytes (GB) hard drive
DVD-RW drive
Apple Care protection plan

Printers
