Our heating on campus is a boiler system utilizing a steam tunnel system under the halls. Our physical plant constantly monitors the weather to determine when the weather will be consistently cold. The point to remember is once the heat is turned on, it can not be turned off for any reason until the end of the academic year. Once the physical plant determines that the residence halls should be heated, the heating process takes a few days to reach capacity. We ask that students take the proper steps to sleep warmly at night with proper clothing and bedding, and that windows remain closed until and after heating begins.
