Information Security and Intelligence
The basis for knowledge is information. One of the
most significant challenges facing everyone – from
individuals, to corporations, to the country – is
maintaining, securing and interpreting information.
The Information Security and Intelligence program at
Ferris State University addresses this challenge head-
on. This program was developed with input from the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon
and investigative agencies.
Due to this unique design, the ISI program provides
hands on utilization of state-of-the-art technology
and is uniquely positioned to satisfy the education
credentials necessary for students to be licensed as
Professional Investigators in the state of Michigan.
In addition, our computer forensics coursework is
accepted for meeting the education requirement to
sit for computer forensic examinations.
Students will develop skills in a variety of leading
edge technologies such as visual analysis, geographic
information systems and digital forensics, as well as
a broad cultural background to provide a basis for
interpreting information and its ethical use.
Opportunities exist in the government, business,
security, intelligence, health care, insurance,
education and several other fields.
