Health Information Management
The demand for medical record administrators is
increasing as the health care industry expands.
Individuals with an interest in computers, health care
and business find that medical record administration
is a challenging and fulfilling career option. Many
graduates are employed in hospitals, physician’s offices
and clinics, nursing homes and home health agencies.
Medical record administrators perform the same
work as a medical record technician. They supervise
a department, train employees and evaluate their
performance. Some work as private consultants.
Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the
national certification examination administered by the
American Health Information Management Association
to earn the Registered Health Information Administrator
(RHIA) credential.
This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of
Allied Health Educational Programs in collaboration with the American
