Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice baccalaureate program combines
training and education to prepare men and women
for a professional career in the criminal justice system
in Michigan and throughout the country. Class work is
designed to enhance experiential learning and give
students a balance of practical and theoretical learning
they can apply in work situations. This generalist option
prepares graduates to seek federal, state and/or local
criminal justice agency employment or admission to
law school or graduate school.
Classes are held during daytime and evening hours
depending on the location. All faculty have work
experience in law enforcement, corrections or law. The
most common positions for graduates of this program
are: police officer, corrections officer, community
correction officer, probation officer, detective, federal
agent and investigator for a multitude of public and
private agencies and/or corporations.
Dental Hygiene
The baccalaureate program in dental hygiene is
designed for dental hygienists with an associate
degree in dental hygiene who want to earn a
Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in a
student-centered learning environment. Students
engage in self-directed learning activities, advance
their knowledge in the areas of critical thinking,
exhibit values for lifelong learning, synthesize
evidence based information and develop leadership
skills. Graduates from the program will be prepared
with enhanced technological modalities of practice,
research, communication, educational leadership,
management and dental hygiene knowledge.
This degree will expand the knowledge of dental
hygienists and prepare graduates for more extensive
roles in the profession. This program will guide
students in developing the knowledge, skills,
attitudes and values necessary for positions of
responsibility in a variety of health care, educational,
research and community settings. The curriculum
will consist of general education courses, research
