Craig Bowman
Cook/Culinary Coordinator, Center Ice Food Court
Craig Bowman's unique leadership style and mentoring of new Dining Service employees
allows room for their development into productive and happy members of the Dining
Services team. Bowman leads the members of Dining Services by embracing innovative
practices to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of fellow employees. His accomplishments
are well recognized and confirmed by presentations for off-campus entities, and his
willingness to share personal experiences demonstrates Bowman's pride in his work
at the University.
Craig has been active in the Ferris and local communities by being a supporter of
sports and concessions at Morley-Stanwood Schools, serving on the Food Service Advisory
Board at the Mecosta-Osceola Career Center, and participating in various leadership
roles in his church.
Cindy Horn
Director, Student Leadership and Activities
Cindy Horn's colleagues have cited her as an outstanding member of the Ferris community
and a fine representative of Ferris State University who always finds the best in
every situation. Cindy works tirelessly to provide quality programs to the students
of FSU outside of the classroom. She portrays a positive outlook when working with
students and often becomes a confidant for the students as well as a mentor in a compassionate
and supportive environment. Cindy also works closely with the University and local
community providing students with volunteer opportunities. She promotes collaboration
between student organizations and truly cares about what Ferris students are doing.
Cindy has been active in the Ferris and local communities by serving on the Mecosta
County Human Services Collaborative Board and with her participation in recycling.
Judith Keith
Secretary, College of Technology
Judy Keith shows great initiative in the projects she pursues and has built a reputation
for being conscientious and impeccable in her responsibilities. She continually demonstrates
a caring and professional role when working with students and faculty, and creates
a pleasant work environment for everyone around her. She gladly assists students and
faculty and willingly shares her knowledge of the University and its programs.
Judy has been active in the Ferris and local communities by supporting Project Starburst
and St. Paul's Parish with the donation of homemade items and providing hand-knitted
hats to newborns at Mecosta County Medical Center.
Kristen Salomonson
Director, Institutional Research, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Services
Kristen Salomonson's colleagues have cited her as a prime example of someone who crosses
all divisional lines and remains committed to ensuring that Ferris is the best place
it can be. Kristen's interest in students is demonstrated by her teaching of FSUS
100 -- the First Year Experience Seminar class. She often goes above and beyond her
normal job expectations to assist students, faculty, and staff. She is also known
as an excellent planner and problem-solver who thinks outside of the box.
Kristen demonstrates enthusiasm and a positive attitude in all that she does and
believes that everyone is an important component to the success of the University.
Her expertise, demeanor, and performance are truly exemplary and magnified by her
genuine interactions with faculty, staff and students. Kristen has been active in
the Ferris and local communities by serving in various roles for the American Association
of University Women, the Women's Professional Development Conference, and the Pet
Rescue Organization.
Shelly VandePanne
Coordinator, FSUS and University College Registration
Shelly VandePanne's enthusiasm for Ferris State University is exemplified every time
she reports to her office. She participates in the Select 60 program and still maintains
contact with students that she has mentored over the year. She is always willing to
do whatever it takes to make everyone's experience a good one. Shelly is very approachable
by faculty, peers, students and their parents. Her demeanor is always pleasant and
positive mixed with a sense of humor and humility which serves as a role model for
co-workers and students.
Shelly has been active in the Ferris and local communities by participating in Boy
Scouts, church activities, and supporting her local school district on many levels.
