Research suggests that faculty/student interaction is one of the major factors that contribute to student persistence and development during college (Pascarella & Terenzini, 2005). Similarly, research shows that student engagement on campus, whether through on-campus employment or involvement in extra-curricular activities, also predicts student success and satisfaction with the university (Pascarella & Terenzini). With that said, we know that our students respect and value the opinions of Ferris State University faculty and staff.
Career Services is committed to partnering with faculty and staff on the Ferris State University campus to provide career assistance to students. This assistance comes in many forms and begins at the onset of the students' academic presence on this campus. The earlier a student knows his/her career directions, the easier the transition will be after graduation. Faculty and staff are an important part of this transition. Career Services believes it is very important to offer students and alumni venues to incorporate career planning, career development and job search assistance throughout their college career and beyond. Career Services conducts classroom presentations and speaks to campus groups on career-related topics about everything from resumes to internships. and provides your department with current information about events and services.
