I Still Love My Golly

***The staff of the Jim Crow Museum receives dozens of letters and emails. Some of these communiques offer insight into race relations -- historically and in the present. While some are hateful, we have decided to share some of these letters and emails with our Internet visitors.***

I am sorry if you find it offensive. I had a golly that as a young child I liked as much as I did my teddy bear but since then I have met Africans that I mostly respect! (I don't respect all my English contacts) but I have also met many Indians (not native Americans) that are selfish and deserving of the bad press that the early gollywogs got! But as it looks you seem to think it's the Negros (or any Africans) that are the ones that the golly is portraying.

Barbie is a completely sexist doll but no worse than a gollywog and still loved by many children as was (and still is) the gollywog.
