Important Dates for the Start of the Fall 2015 Semester

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University is ready to kick off the school year as it welcomes students back for the Fall 2015 semester. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 31.

Several student-focused events, as part of Bulldog Beginnings, are scheduled on and off campus during the first week of classes. Highlighted events include Meijer Mania and Backyard Bash, on Saturday, Aug. 29, and Founders’ Day, on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Important Dates to Remember

Wednesday, Aug. 26 – The late registration for Fall 2015 semester begins.

Thursday, Aug. 27 – Honors program students can begin moving in between 8 a.m. and noon with the option to move in as late as Saturday, Aug. 29.

Friday, Aug. 28 – Students are able to begin moving in to on-campus residence halls or apartments at 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Bulldog Welcome is the start of Bulldog Beginnings and welcome of new students allowing new and returning students to become acquainted with campus while playing games, winning prizes, and meeting new people. This event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Top Taggart Field.

Saturday, Aug. 29 – Bulldog Beginnings hosts the second event of the school year with Backyard Bash at 3 p.m. on the South Quad by The Rock Café.

Meijer Mania – Giveaways and raffles, a live DJ, and coupons for the semester will be available to students visiting Meijer on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 31 – First day of Fall 2015 semester classes.

Wednesday, Sept. 2 – The Academic Support Center is available for students who seek a little help with classes. Students can visit an open house beginning at 8:30 a.m. that features TutorTrac, the new online web based tutoring system.

Transitions to Success The Office of Multicultural Student Services hosts Transitions to Success: Minority Freshman Orientation Program beginning at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3 – Ferris hosts Founders’ Day for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy while food, games, and prizes will be available to attendees from 12 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Students eligible for financial aid will receive their Huntington Bank financial aid refund. Students using other banks will receive their financial aid refund on or after Thursday, Sept. 17, and students receiving their refunds by mail will get a refund check on or after Friday, Sept. 25.
