Homecoming Tailgate on Ice Event Set for Oct. 4 Edit

Ferris State UniversityThis year, Ferris State University’s homecoming celebration, “Bulldogs Get Down with Motown,” will have a little hockey flavor in addition to the traditional activities.

The Bulldog hockey team, the defending Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season champion, will host the University of Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 4 with the puck scheduled to drop at 7:37 p.m. But, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Ferris Alumni Association will be hosting its Tailgate on Ice event adjacent to the ice arena in the Ewigleben Sports Complex in the Multipurpose Room.

“Having an opportunity to host a long-time rival like the University of Michigan, while putting on our popular Tailgate on Ice event, adds to what will be a great homecoming Saturday,” said Jeremy Mishler, director of Alumni Relations. “We’re fortunate to have such a strong hockey tradition and outstanding support from alumni, faculty, staff, students and the community. The tailgate will be a great opportunity for everyone to come together and cheer on the Bulldogs.”

The $25 cost for the event includes access to the tailgate party and a game ticket. For Blueline Club members and season ticket holders the fee is only $10.

The event will include traditional tailgating food, inflatables for kids as well as greetings from the Bulldog hockey coaching staff.
