MIMA Set to Host September Shakedown Event on Sept. 19

September ShakedownFerris State University’s Music Industry Management Association is hosting September Shakedown on Friday, Sept. 19 at The Gate from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

September Shakedown kicks off the fall concert series with up-and-coming indie music sensation Koji as the main attraction. Supporting artists include Runaway Brother, Secret Grief, and West and Run. The event sponsors are MIMA, Y-102 WYBR and Light Touch Tattoos.

“Instead of hosting just one concert, Autumn Alive, we decided to change things up this year and put on a two-part concert series,” said Nichole Jenks, September Shakedown booking agent.

Autumn Alive is an annual concert produced for Ferris students that usually showcases different music genres. This year, each of the two concerts will represent a different genre of music. September Shakedown will provide indie, rock and punk music. Part two of the concert series, Country Bash, will be held in October and will feature various country artists.

“September Shakedown will provide entertainment to the Big Rapids Community while allowing MIMA members to gain skills and knowledge in concert production,” Jenks said.

Concert attendees must be 18 and older to enter The Gate and have a valid ID present. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets are on sale and available at The Gate, Room 124 of the College of Business building and at Light Touch Tattoo.
