Ferris Recyclers is Seeking Recyclables from the Campus Community

Ferris State University students are encouraged to bring recyclables to the Interdisciplinary Resource Center (IRC) Connector on Tuesday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ferris Recyclers, a campus student organization, is collecting recyclables from fellow Ferris students. The group urges students to bring their recyclables to the IRC Connector, so that the items will not end up in trash and landfills.

“It’s important for students to remember that Ferris pays to have their trash taken care of,” said Michael Williams, vice president of Ferris Recyclers and a sophomore majoring in Environmental Biology from Grand Rapids.

At a table that will be set up in IRC, Ferris Recyclers will ask students and faculty to fill out a 30-second survey about their recycling knowledge.

“This survey will help us get an idea on what we need to promote more, as well as bring awareness to our change from just recycling to sustainability,” Williams said.

Ferris Recyclers collect recyclable items such as bottles, cans, paper and cardboard every other week in the IRC Connector.
