Popular Hypnotist Tom DeLuca to Perform at Ferris on Dec. 4

Tom DeLucaTom DeLuca returns to Ferris State University to again put students under hypnosis and entertain an audience through the power of imagination.

DeLuca’s performance is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in Williams Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Evan Pazkowski, president of the student organization Entertainment Unlimited, discussed why DeLuca has been booked at Ferris the last 30 years.

“Watching people make fools out of themselves on a stage is one of the purest forms of entertainment. Tom achieves this level while keeping it shocking, but classy,” Pazkowski said. “Tom always tells us that it’s the students that star in the show, he’s just there to bring out the bright side in everyone.”

DeLuca often picks about 20 students from a packed Williams Auditorium to go under hypnosis. Students then become susceptible to their imagination.

“One of the crowd favorites is when he gives a hypnotized student fruit and convinces them that the fruit is alive and friendly. Most students end up eating their new apple-friend,” Pazkowski said about the different activities DeLuca employs.

Jordan House, a Public Relations major from Greenville, is looking forward to having DeLuca return to campus.

“It’s a good experience on campus for new students,” she said. “It allows you to meet more people and see a different side of some of the people being hypnotized.”
