Ferris State University Facilities Open to People Affected by Power Outage

To assist Big Rapids-area community residents who have been affected by this weekend's storm and power outage, Ferris State University is notifying its off-campus students and the public of available facilities and services. The FLITE Library building will keep its normal operating hours of 1 p.m. until midnight. The Rock Café and Westside Café, on campus, are open tonight (April 13), until midnight, as dining options.

The Sports Complex and Student Recreation Center will be open to community members who need to shower or use restrooms. These facilities will be open between 6 and 10 p.m.

For tonight, beginning at 8 p.m., the Multipurpose Room of the Sports Complex will be available to community members who don't have power and have concern about tonight's cold temperatures. The facility will be staffed and available overnight between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Community members using the facility will be responsible for bringing their own sleeping bag or blankets.

As the University continues to function with power, all classes will be hosted as scheduled on Monday, April 14.
