Trio with Hospitality Ties Recognized at EPIC Awards Event

Three women connected to Ferris State University’s Hospitality Management program were recognized at the Event Professional Industry Class Awards event that took place in late March.

The EPIC awards are a combined initiative that consists of the greater Detroit chapters of the National Association of Catering and Events, the International Special Event Society and the Association of Bridal Consultants.

Senior Chelsea Desmond, NACE FSU Student Chapter president, received the NACE Rising Star Award. Desmond, of Waterford, was also awarded the first annual Todd Lloyd Memorial Scholarship.

Amy M Dorey, NACE FSU Student Chapter advisor, was recognized for her commitment of inspiration, support and time by the EPIC Committee for holding a three-year position as the competition’s awards collector. 

Also recognized at the event was Hannah Cregg, a Ferris Hospitality alumna and event coordinator with the TopThat! Event. During her first year in the industry, Cregg received an award for Best Team Effort based on one of her wedding productions.
