Hockey Coaches Daniels and Famulak to Participate in Sports Speaker Series

Bob DanielsFerris State University’s hockey program is coming off of another banner season on the ice.

Fresh off that successful campaign, head coach Bob Daniels and associate head coach Drew Famulak will share their experiences of coaching at the college level as part of the Spring 2014 Sports Speaker Series. Daniels and Famulak will talk in Room 107 of the Interdisciplinary Resource Center (IRC) on Ferris’ Big Rapids campus on Wednesday April 23 beginning at 4:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Due to limited seating, however, anyone expecting to attend should RSVP with Sandy Alspach, professor of Communication, in advance. During the 2013-14 season, the hockey team finished as regular-season champions of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, earned the program’s third-ever bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight. The Bulldogs won 29 games – the second-best total for a single season in school history. The graduating senior class finished with 89 career wins – the most in Ferris hockey history. Additionally, Daniels was named WCHA Coach of the Year.
