Fall Career Week Offers Wealth of Opportunities for Ferris Students

Career Week VIDEO: Career Week at Ferris State University

Ferris State University students can explore careers, graduate school options, internship and employment opportunities during Career Week, Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18.

Career Week, organized by the university’s Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services, includes workshops, information sessions and presentations, and on-campus interviews for internships and full-time jobs. The event also includes a Career and Internship Fair that will bring more than 140 companies to campus.

“This event allows students to focus on the end goal: gaining employment,” said Michele Albright, coordinator of CLACS’ Student Career Services. “This year we are increasing our reach to students of all majors and career fields with the new additions of a Graduate School Fair and a Career Exploration Expo. We have extended these activities in collaboration with other departments to include international resources and internship preparation.”

Career Week will kick off on Monday, Oct. 14 with a keynote presentation by Marc Marcuse, president of Reel Management, a talent agency for reality television celebrities. Marcuse, who appeared as a contestant on NBC’s “Average Joe,” will discuss “Career Bootcamp: Become a Job-Hunting Ninja in an Hour” during the 7 p.m. presentation in the College of Business, Room 111.

Students interested in pursuing higher education can meet with representatives from nearly 20 graduate schools, including University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Central Michigan University and Cooley Law School, at the Graduate School Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
