Ferris State Alumni Association Hosting Summer Baseball Outings

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University is taking its alumni out to the ballgame this summer.

The Alumni Association is hosting three baseball outings, including the Saturday, June 22 game between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park.

“Alumni events are important, because they allow people to network with fellow alumni in their areas and hear university updates,” said Brandi Behrenwald, assistant director of Alumni Relations. “We are excited about the events that are planned for this summer.”

The Tigers outing in Detroit includes a picnic before the 7:15 p.m. game and fireworks after. Tickets are $35.  Deadline to RSVP is Friday, June 7.

Up next is the battle between the Great Lakes Loons and the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Friday, July 26 at Dow Diamond in Midland. Tailgating, which begins at 6 p.m., includes an all-you-can-eat buffet. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 10 and younger.

The university’s mascot, Brutus, will join alumni on Thursday, Aug. 1 at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City when the Traverse City Beach Bums take on the Frontier Greys. A reception and dinner will begin at 6 p.m., and the game will start at 7:05. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 10 and younger.
