Giving Opportunities Created in Memory of Ferris' Dr. Lucy Ngoh

Dr. Lucy NgohThose interested in honoring Dr. Lucy Ngoh, a long-time associate professor in Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy who died in December 2012, may make a memorial gift in her name to assist the poor in her native Cameroon or contribute to Ferris State University.

Donations for the Cameroonian fund can be made at any Wells Fargo location or wired from any bank into the account “Anna Chenjo for benefit of Dr. Lucy Ngoh.” The account number is 8762854746; the routing number is 031100869.

“Lucy’s concern for and work with the poor in Cameroon is commendable,” said family friend Bon Wakam, who noted that funds would establish “a lasting legacy for Lucy” as well as assist the family in funeral-related expenses.

Ngoh, who joined Ferris in 1992, was visiting relatives in Cameroon during the university’s holiday break when she died after being injured in a Dec. 30 bus accident.

Individuals wishing to make a gift to Ferris in her memory may do so by check (made payable to Ferris State University and noting “Dr. Lucy Ngoh Memorial Gift” in the memo). Checks should be mailed to Ferris State University, Prakken 101, 420 Oak Street, Big Rapids, MI 49307. To make a gift by credit card, donors should go to www.ferris.edu and click on the Giving and Alumni tab on the top navigation bar and then click on “Make an Online Gift Now.”  They should choose “Give Online to Ferris State University” and then select “Other” and write Dr. Lucy Ngoh in the designation box.  To make a credit card gift by phone, individuals should contact Monika Repke in University Advancement and Marketing at (231) 591-3849. Gifts received by Ferris will be deposited in the College of Pharmacy’s development fund to provide financial assistance to students who need it the most.
