“The Food Dude” Kevin Roberts will be at Ferris State University on Thursday, Feb.
21 to demonstrate how to make simple and tasty meals catered to college students.
The chef, author and host of TLC’s “BBQ Pitmasters” will provide fun facts about healthy eating and show how cooking can be cool during his presentation, a 5-Star event that begins at 7 p.m. in Williams Auditorium.
“Since many students are always on the go, it’s a habit to grab fast food,” said Melissa Hanson, president of Entertainment Unlimited, sponsor of the free event.
Roberts, a finalist on season four of “The Next Food Network Star” and a regular on NBC’s “Today” show, is the author of “Munchies” and “Kissing in the Kitchen.” He is the owner and executive chef of the East Village Tavern and Bowl, an award-winning urban sports bar in San Diego.
Positive student feedback from an appearance at Ferris a few years ago prompted the campus programming board to bring him back, Hanson noted.
