American pop-punk band We the Kings will headline the annual Autumn Alive concert on Thursday, Nov. 1 at Ferris State University’s Wink Arena.
The show, sponsored by the Music Industry Management Association, starts at 7 p.m. Tickets, $10 for students with valid Ferris identification and $20 for the public, will be available at the Wink Arena box office and the Rankin Student Center.
“We’ve been really working hard this summer to make this Autumn Alive unlike any other,” said MIMA president Matthew Rutledge. “We’ve had ideas brewing, and now we get to see how they play out. I don’t think that Ferris students will be disappointed.”
We the Kings, whose latest album is “Sunshine State of Mind,” is best known for its hit song “Check Yes Juliet.” Detroit native punk band Fireworks will open the concert.
Since Autumn Alive started in 1999, the concert has featured big-name acts such as Train, Phil Vassar, Third Eye Blind, Joe Nichols and Taking Back Sunday. The event is organized by the MIMA, the student organization for the Music Industry Management program.
“We are excited for the students’ opportunity to put on another live concert,” said Lori Armstrong, MIM administrative assistant. “It gives them a great chance for career development.”
