MLK Celebration Features Service Project to Benefit Local Community

Service ProjectOne of the featured events of Ferris State University’s 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be a service project designed to allow the campus to give something back to those in need in the Big Rapids community.

Ferris faculty, staff, students and local community members are encouraged to make donations during the week of the MLK Celebration to benefit the local community.

“The service project is a collection of non-perishable food items as well as other goods and items that will benefit the WISE shelter and Project Starburst,” said Michael Wade, assistant director of the Office of Multicultural Student Services. “There will be various donation locations on campus.”

Donation locations include the OMSS office in FLITE 159, the Student Leadership and Activities Office in Rankin 164 or any of the campus residence halls.
